The new normal

I have been through chemo and my last Rituxan was in Feb. I live in Michigan and we are experiencing some high heat and humidity. A couple of weeks ago, I felt like I had the flu. Headache, stomach rolling, cramps,no appetite,no energy, but no fever. Yes, I had worked in the heat and humidity. It took a weekend to get over it. Now it is back only this time I am nauseous too.I just saw my family Dr. for a physical and routine bloodwork and all was well. Any ideas? Could this be the new normal? I hope not. I have a swimming pool so I do like it warm.

Thanks,

Stitches-
No, I don't think this is the new normal, I think it's probably the temporary normal. Depending on how often you were given it, adverse effects from Rituxan can pop up 12 months after your last infusion. it can be detected in serum (blood) in some people who only received one or two infusions as many as six months down the road.

Rituxan is a gift that keeps on regifting itself. According to the published information, the 12 months statistic would seem to be rather rare. But side effects in general, again, could go on for months (as you're seeing).

I had a total of 13 Rituxan treatments in 9 months. I had lots of trouble with it. Itching during infusion and off and on for weeks after. The frustrating part of this, I have felt good and went on with daily life almost forgetting…The fatigue was much better also. Regifting is a good choice of words. Thanks for answering and support from the site is immeasurable.
