I get the impression they don’t think they need help. You’ve heard of “incels”? Involuntary Celibates - guys (AFAIK only guys) who want to have sex with women but who can’t seem to find a girlfriend or whatever. They think their problem is that women are playing too hard to get. Many of the problems in this world (especially the so-called “1st world”) arise from feelings of entitlement: “I should be able to get this / do this / act this way. Who are you to tell me I can’t?” The online groups you mention just make it easier for these people (I use the term loosely) to support each other. It is disgusting and alarming in more or less equal measure.
