Tips 14 & 15 of staying motivated: #14. Reward yourself often. Reward yourself with every success. Write down appropriate rewards for achieving even small successes. Avoid giant goals such no binge eating for......days, or weeks. Rather dealing effectively with a single emotional food urge ought to be enthusiastically with physical movement such as thumbs up with a verbal follow-up such as "You're the man!" or "way to go!" Use your own self cheer. Perhaps an applause, high five with an appropriate verbal follow-up. (Check "the Fogg Method" for other verbal/nonverbal forms of self congratulation. #15. Go for mini goals. It's hard to go for extended period goals as motivation fades. Rather establish doable short term goals. Establish a routine of having many successful goal experiences towards your ultimate goal.
