Today was a hard day :/ I've been battling binge eating for a year now. I find that whenever I am stressed or feel overwhelemd I binge, and then I feel so guilty about it that I binge even more. I've tried counseling, therapy, journaling, etc. and nothing works. What are some strategies you use? Help!!

One thing that works for me when all I want to do is binge is eating foods that have zero or low calorie like carrots and celery. Also, I drink water sometimes tons of glasses at a time. Both strategies fill my stomach giving my brain the message that I'm full and keep me from eating unhealthy foods.

Why do you think you've not been successful thus far? Are you feeling ambivalent about letting go of your eating disorder? Try to think about what your eating disorder is doing for you? If you don't have firm strategies that promote healthy behavior, change can be very scary.
