Told my Mom

I cannot believe I just told my mom. I told her over a text (I know that seems horrid but it was the only way I could just say it). She was surprised but glad I wanted to get help and resolve issues. She asked me if she could do anything more for me. All I asked was to fill out the insurance paperwork and send it so I can get a counselor. She wants to know how tomorrow with the nutritionist goes. She seemed glad I was getting help. She said she loves me and she will get that done for me. She asked what made me go get help and I told her stress from school. She told me I am just like my father- get myself worked up and think negative.

I hope my dad doesn't call later. That would be worse. But the worst is over. I told them. All they can do now is ask questions. Its easier than telling them again.

A huge weight has been lifted. I just want to sleep...

Allee,

I hope this helps you to release some of the shame you've been carrying... This ED is NOT your fault, and nothing to feel shame about... But I know we often do. ♥ My mom wasn't surprised when I told her; she knew... But she was so relieved that I admitted it and told her I was getting help. I'm so glad your mom was understanding, too. :) She loves you.

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow! Thinking of you. ♥

Love,

Jen

Allee, well done girl. that was so brave of you and your mum sounds like a wonderful one.

Hope you are feeling elated:)

She may be a little confused at how to support you, as many do, that's what confused my mam so much; so if you want to send it her some booklets about how best to support you or if she's a computer whizz direct her to some sites.

Love to you hun, you brave girl

Well done Allee. That is so great that you felt the courage to be able to do that. Sometimes it is easier to write things than say them verbally, especially when there are so many feelings involved. I am so glad that your mum is being supportive, she loves you and will only want the best for you. I am glad that you feel a weight has been lifted, it means that you have done the right thing. Am so happy for you. I hope things will continue to be good for you!!

Sending you lots of hugs
