This morning my youngest daughter and her boyfriend were here. They were out in the living room chilling and talking. I had been online and had gone to the store and just got back and was intending to get back online to finish up some things I was doing. They asked me to come out in the living room and sit and talk with them. So I took my coffee and went out there. We talked for a few hours just my youngest daughter, who is 16, and her boyfriend, who is 17, and me. I really enjoyed it. I just felt like anything else I had to do could wait since these days I don't always get to spend alot of time with my kids. Not because of me but because they are busy living their lives. So when I get an invitation to do so, I take it. It was really great talking with them both.
It is great that you took the time to talk with your daughter and her boyfriend. It is so important to be involved in the life of kids that age and to let them know that they are a big part of your life. Teenagers can be a source of stress and also a source of great joy.
