Who here knows what 'Wise Mind' means?

Hi Kisobel-I do not!

From what I can remember there are three minds: the reasonable or logical one, the emotional mind and then wise mind. Wise mind is the coming together of both reason and emotion. Where we take the time to process what we are feeling and thinking and then rationalize those thoughts and emotions to act and react in a healthier way to the people and stressors around us. When we are feeling angry at something, rather than just shouting etc. we stop, realize that we are feeling anger and then look at why we are feeling angry, look at the facts rather than the dysfunctional thoughts, and then act in a healthy way. Taking a moment to oneself before explaining to someone why we are angry.

@Destiny2020 do you find it possible to practice wise mind when angered? My husbands anger comes so quick and sometimes unexpected that I can’t think that wise mind would still have a place in that moment. How do you perceive it when it happens? Can you control?

That's a great description of Wise Mind. Thank you.
