I am honestly asking, Why is Chocolate Cake so GOOD??? Seriously, I'm posting this in all my support groups, because chocolate cake helps EVERYTHING!!!
My daughter, recently was suicidal and every few hours I would ask her what I could do for her or get for her and after she began to open up and let out some of her pain, she asked for chocolate cake!!! Seriously, we both just cracked up!! With everything going on and all the fragments of stress and anxiety that were jetting through her mind, trying to make sense of her feelings and learning it's ok to feel upset at someone or say no when she needs too, the bottom line was, I want chocolate cake!!! LOL And I knew exactly what she meant in asking for it, because my daughter never asks for anything ever!! And after everything, she needed to have the comfort and connection she feels when I make chocolate cake from scratch. So, I went home and made a chocolate cake!
Now, a couple weeks later, I am hurting terribly and my stress is heightend again from **** getting within 5 feet of me and last night when I made chocolate cake, it just felt better!!! The boys as well, have their stress and anxiety and it's as if we can shut it all out for a half and hour as we sit together laughing and joking while we eat a piece of chocolate cake!
Now today, lots more stress, but important things that need to be done to assist me in providing a safe, productive, loving environment for me and my children. Legal interpretations of statutes and possible outcomes of certain situations. Balancing recovery and daily living without upsetting the need for consistancy and moving forward but without running in circles in all areas..... yikes, it can be a bit overwhelming. BUT, I just made a pot of coffee, and realized we have chocolate cake!! And as soon as I remembered that, I knew exactly what my soul needed..... chocolate cake!! :)
SO, I'm taking the next hour "off" to read posts and have some chocolate cake!!! I HIGHLY recommend you all eat some too!
Hope you all are doing ok!!
Sending chocolate cake hugs, Suzee
