Hmm. I'm not sure how this works, because I'm new, but here's a bit of my story.

Today actually, I got my blood work done and tomorrow the doctor's are going to tell me if I have Type 1 Diabetes. My doctor said that I've been showing sings cause I'm always eating, drinking, and urinating. Even at night. First, it started by habit. I'm scared honestly. I've been trying to do research on T1D, but none of what they are saying is making any sense to me. I asked my doctor also, but she got distracted. I have a boyfriend also and I told him that I might have it, and if I do, I'm scared it will ruin my relationship with him. I'm also scared to tell other people. Please, if anyone knows what I'm going through, help me. Thank you for your time.

My name is Heather and I am also a 14 year old with diabetes. I was diagnosed last year. When it started off things were really hard. Things like first lows and extreme sicknesses for the first time are really scary. If your boyfriend doestn understand you or except this new change then it is best to move on but really he should understand. Its a lot to learn but yuor doctors will help you through most of this. Usually telling your friends is good. They do ask a lot of questions in the beginning but they are the most excepting and supportive. But that doesnt mean you should tell everyone just who you are really close to. but hang in there.

Hi, my name is Sierra.
I'm 13 & I was diagnosed w/ Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 6.. I didn't know much about it then but that I had to take shots everyday.

Along the way there have been some struggles.. Like how I felt different from other kids & things like that. But praying helps. It may seem scary now, but just have faith & know everything will be okay.
