my son who is now an adult has adhd and is a whirlwind still he erupts into the house making it feel very cramped and small his tongue goes at 90 miles an hour and lo and behold im exhausted before we begin to do anything
but hes my boy and i love him

I can relate to this topic. I had went on a site where family members of ADHD people could vent and this was brought up. I felt a little worried about it so I had asked my husband if he felt I didn't care about him/his day. Do I "space-out" a lot during our conversations? (answer:yes) He said it use to hurt, but he understood it was one of my "quirks". I told him that I love him and I did care, but it is easier for me to concentrate on him if we could turn off the tv or maybe just had a one-on-one talk where it was quiet. (I also have to turn off the tv when I talk on the phone.) Sound-scape type music is ok, but the tv just wrecks my concentration.
