Is it just me, or does there seem to be a big new wave of non-monogamous dating? My friends and I are pretty traditional when it comes to relationships and have only ever dated one man at a time. Though, it seems that everyone around us dates multiple people at the same time.
It seems most prevalent when online dating, because you're seeing one another actively on the site and that's when it can get awkward. I understand the early stages when you're not sure how the other feels and before you become romantically involved, but once you've been out multiple times and feelings have developed...it seems so strange.
I'm used to monogamous dating from the onset and as of late that doesn't seem to be the case. So, my close friend and I decided that we'd only go out on daytime dates such as coffee and lunch, and keep it totally non-romantic until we know the other person's true intentions. This is our solution to what we're seeing out there.
What are you experiencing out there in the realm of dating? And, what are your remedies to this epidemic of non-monogamous dating?
Thanks!
