Food for thought what makes you laugh

I read something interesting today: On average a 6 year old laughs around 300 times a day. In comparison the average adult laughs between 15 and 30 times a day.

So lets try it; what makes you laugh?

I laugh when I hear little kids say cute and bluntly honest things. Things like asking very loudly in public... "Mum why is grandma so many wrinkly?" or the time when my brother refused to eat his 'egg and soldiers' breakfast (thats a runny egg with cut up strips of toast aka soldiers, to dip in the yolk) because he was worried the soldiers would start fighting in his stomach and give him an upset tummy. Thats the sort of stuff that makes me laugh and I love it :-)

Simone...this is great! What makes me laugh?
I laugh a lot, and I think what I appreciate the most is that I am able to laugh at myself and not feel ashamed or strange about it. So, I guess, hearing myself laugh makes me laugh...does that make sense?
Take care...Jan ♥

Awesome question! Hmmm what makes me laugh. Honestly, lately I laugh a lot more. As I grow more apart from my disorder I laugh more easily. Mostly what makes me laugh is my clumsiness like falling off my bed and my roommate sees :) I am a super clumsy person and I find instead of being embarrassed about tripping or running into the door, just laugh :) It is the worlds best medicine

I love this! My biggest laughing point in awkwardness and completely ridiculous situations. Yes, this can lead to some laughing at inappropriate times, but life is too short not to laugh!

hmmm i was just thinking about this today--funny! i was thinking --what makes something funny? i was really pondering that today, and how to make life lighter than my bleak outlook...

what makes me laugh---the outrageously funny hilarous things that come out of my fiancees mouth! priceless! he has me laughing so much!

Certain shows like The Office, 30 Rock, Friends, and Will and Grace make me laugh; watching Jay Leno's monologue from the night before on hulu.com each morning makes me laugh; reading jokes that I find on the internet or that my dad sends me through email make me laugh; and reading my stories that I wrote when I was little make me laugh.

What makes me laugh most is being around people I love and doing idiotic things together.
For instance last night my boyfriend and I were playing around with flickering the lights, and we both moved in close to each other (unknowingly to the other) in hopes to spook the other person when the light came on... haha we ended up slamming into each other. It hurt but we laughed about it for a good while :)

:-) These are great. Isnt it good to think about times/situations that make us feel happy? Its sad that as we grow older we seem loose the ability to see all the fun and positive in life. Everyday I try and look for at least one positive event or situation ... and when I stumble across it I acknowledge it. It can be anything from an upbeat pop song on the radio to noticing how colourful the flowers in the garden are, from appreciating the warmth that a cup of tea brings to having a quick chat with a friend. When we're struggling its so easy to start seeing everything in black and grey. The little step of injecting some colour into the pictures that we create of the world can make a big difference to how we feel, how we make choices and how we think about our tomorrows. Hopefully one day we will see and appreciate the world in all of its colours

I actually laughed out loud to something I read in a book the other night. That is such a strange feeling and you know that you are the only one in the room that is in on the joke. You can explain it, but it's never as funny as having read it the first time to yourself. My family just burst out laughing at me.

Those are fun-feel good moments.

missy…I do that a lot these days!! I will get an email or read something really funny, and find myself laughing out loud, with no one to hear me! Then I laugh louder because I realize how strange it might look if someone DID see me!! LOL
A good belly laugh…the best medicine (besides food!)
Take care…Jan

Thanks for posting the question. It's a great one. I was having a rough morning and that just perked me right up. We should all love to laugh!
