OK today I went to the VA to get the result of a ECHOCARDIOGRAM Holter Monitor that kept record of my heart for 24hrs the Doctor didn't have time to talk to me but give me the result in paper form. Now Im sitting here going crazy because I don't understand what the result is saying I'm hoping someone out there who knows about these things could help. the result said
"Normal Sinus Rhythm Possible left Atrial Enlargement Left Ventricular Hypertrophy non specific st-t changes inferior leads, Nonspecific T wave Abnormality no longer evident in Anterior Leads"
Hey, I'm JenHansen2 and I've been in your shoes...The doctor didn't give me any attention either cuz I'm just a poor college kid who went to a free clinc. Anyway, the 1st part Normal Sinus Rhythm means your heart rate is normal! Nothing strage going on there. The next part, however means SOMETHING is going on with with the left artium...Something that suggests a slight enlargement. You need to find a doctor to look into that. Also, Left Ventricular Hypertrophy means for whatever reason, the muscule wall of left ventricle of your heart has thicken to some degree. Again you need a proper doctor on that. Now st-t refers to the movements of your heart...The best way I can describe is, the st as the "up" part of a hill and the t as the down part of the hill, and somewhere along the way there is a very slight change between the up and the down, however, this change is so very slight that it actually doesn't mess with how your heart beats. The last part Nonspecific T wave abnormality no longer evident in the Anterior leads simply means the slight change occurs on the "down" side of your hill and it manages to sort itself out before it get back on the up side. Hope this helps you somehow, I'm NOT a doctor, just a kid with a heart problem and goggle. You really need a medcial doctor to tell you what's what. But, I'm guessing it's nothing serious since your doctor didn't stop to talk to you. Hope all is well take care
