I had great skin up until late last year (I’m 27). I started noticing these closed comedones on my cheeks so i went and bought benzoyl peroxide in hopes of dissolving them and started double cleansing, but it only got worse, now i have tons of red and inflamed acne lesions all over my cheeks. I feel horrible and worthless when I’m not wearing makeup, and even then i hate it because i can still see the bumps.
Calamine lotion has shown some benefit in treating acne. However, it doesn't deal with underlying causes of acne, and it can't prevent breakouts from happening. Using calamine lotion as spot treatment can help. Because calamine lotion has drying properties, it can help dry out pimples caused by excess oil faster.
Are you using a benzoyl peroxide wash? You might need to see a dermatologist and get face wash and spot treatment from there.
