My face and back have been breaking out like crazy since I began taking lithium.
Before lithium, I would get the occasional blackhead and one or two pimples and only on my face. Now I’m covered in blackheads and acne. I’ve stopped using makeup, I use organic shower gel and I try to only use water and organic soap to clean my face but nothing seems to work.
I can’t stop taking lithium because I have bipolar disorder but I’m trying to avoid having to get medication to clear my skin.
Does anyone have any advice on skincare routines that won’t irritate my skin (I’m really sensitive to chemicals) and will help me clear my skin?
Is this a side effect of lithium? I personally love trader joe products, I use the makeup wipes, the tea tree oil pads and I buy the tea tree oil to do spot treatments. It wouldn't hurt to visit a dermatologist, when I took my teenager they gave them lots of samples to try, mostly topical.
