We were married in 1986. He went into the Air Force in 1987. During those 12 years we lived in Mississippi, Georgia, Turkey, New York and New Jersey. There were good times and bad times and in between. Mostly though it was good. We were living in Turkey when the Persian Gulf War started. My 2 year old daughter and I were evacuated from Turkey when the war started. I was 7 months pregnant with our 2nd child. We came back to NC in January 1991 to live with my mother for about 4 months. I had our second child while I was at home. I went back to Turkey with our 2 children to live with my husband in May 1991. We moved alot during those 12 years. That was probably one of the hardest things which was always picking up and moving and leaving friends. But we always managed to make new friends at the new base we would move to. There were some lonely times for me but also good times. It was quite an experience for me being a military spouse. You always had to be prepared for whatever might happen. I have to say I was glad when my husband got out in 1998 and we moved back to NC. We have been living in NC ever since.
