Hey everyone I hope you are all doing well. For one of my classes I need to find an inspirational quote. I know eveyone must have a ton but I was hoping people could share some of their favorites and tell me why and what it means to them. Hopefully get a big post full of happy quotes and such!! Have a great weekend!!! :) Sonrisas
Here's one that I've been wanting to share that I think is very relevant to eating disorders: "To see the truth of what is is to want to change it." When we recognize our eating disorders for what they *truly* are, I don't think we can help but want to fight back.
And here are some Bible verses that have helped me:
On eating:
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
On permission to eat:
You are free to eat from any tree in the garden...
On permission to eat "forbidden (impure/unclean) foods":
Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat." "Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean." The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call impure anything that God has made clean."
Oh, I have tons of favorite quotes! I usually think of them when a situation brings them to light. Any particular topic? ♥
Jen
"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth."
i'm not sure this is very inspirational, but one of my favorite quotes that i remind myself of is "not forgiving someone is like swallowing poisnon..and expecting the other person to die" it puts things in perspective for me.
my favorite quote is 'live , laugh , and love.' that quote has stayed wit hme my whole life..i ll think of some more....
it is a simple quote --but it means soooo much...

thanks everyone those are great! hopefully reading them has brought up some positive thoughts, it sure has for me!!! :) Sonrisas
Here's a couple:
"Flowers grow out of darker moments"
This one means a lot to me in relation to my eating disorder and all that I've been through. Flowers start in a very dark place, like myself. But once they break through the dirt; break through all the soil and weight holding them down, they're free to grow into something beautiful. They're no longer hidden beneath the surface. They bloom bright and are admired by everyone...and each has something unique about them.
"I'm a paintbrush in a way. I'm simple, yeah, I'm plain. I have meaning if you find it in yourself."
This one means a lot to me because of all the people I've met in my life, and the ones that have let me down. People that have judged me and not taken the chance to really know me. But those who do, find I can do great things (like a paintbrush on canvas).
It's not about how I look...it's about who I am.
That's why I love this quote.
Hope that helps :)

Good luck :)
