Winter skin myths

i know i have mentioned this before but my skin freaks out in the wintertime and cold weather. so i just read this article about the top 5 misunderstandings and wanted to share them with you

"As we trudge through the coldest period of year, we have much more to do to protect our fragile skin than merely keeping it warm. Check out the top five myths about winter skin. How many of them did you know?

1) Licking your chapped lips will keep them moisturized.
A lip balm in winter is almost as important as your morning coffee. However, if you forget to bring one, never try to replace it with lip-licking.
Contrary to what most people think, saliva does not do any good to moisturizing your lips. Instead, saliva contains various enzymes that help dissolve food for digestion; these enzymes also digest your lips.

2) Cut back on sunscreen in winter because the sun is not as strong.
Although the UVB rays responsible for the direct DNA damage leading to skin cancer are weaker this time of year, the glare from snow can make it more intense. Besides, wrinkle-accelerating UVA rays are always insidious year-round."

there are five total. here is the source: http://www.accuweather.com/blogs/news/story/44928/5-top-misunderstanding...

Thanks for this victoria!

of course!! i just went snow skiing and was happy that i remembered my sunscreen, i saw a lot of red noses on the slopes.
